CME on Allergy concludes at SKIMS

The week-long CME on Allergy organized by department of immunology SKIMS concluded here today. 

The CME was part of World Allergy Week commemorated to raise awareness about allergic diseases and related disorders. 

   

The organizers in a statement said the theme of the campaign this year, “An itch that rashes” reflects the overarching message that irrational treatment of allergies in the form of undertreatment can complicate the problem. 

The event was organised by Allergy division of the department of immunology and molecular medicine at SKIMS auditorium. Dr Sitesh Roy Allergist and Immunologist from Mumbai who was the keynote speaker enthralled the medical audience. 

Other speakers included Dr Naveed Nazir HOD Chest Medicine, GMC Srinagar, Dr Ghulam Hassan consultant Medicine GMC Srinagar and Dr Farah Sameem Consultant Dermatology SKIMS Medical College Bemina.

Director SKIMS Prof Omar Javid Shah appreciated role of the allergy division of immunology emphasized that all heath partners, students and public must join the campaign to help raise the awareness of the allergic burden so as to avoid further emergence and spread of allergies. 

He congratulated Dr Roohi Rasool the organising secretary of the event to hold such a mega event and expressed hope that it will go a long way in benefiting patients in general and medicos in particular.
