Govt asks departments to streamline execution of developmental works

Jammu, May 11: J&K government has amended Jammu and Kashmir Prosecution Service Recruitment Rules, 2020.

As per a notification issued by Principal Secretary Home, Chandraker Bharti, in exercise of its powers conferred by proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the amendment has been made by the government in sub-rule (3) and sub rule (4) of rule 8 of the Jammu and Kashmir Prosecution Service Recruitment Rules, 2020, notified vide S O 245 dated August 5, 2020.

   

As per substituted sub-rule (3), every probationer “shall on the completion of training appear in a final examination to be conducted by the Commission in accordance with such regulations as the government may from time to time, make.” “These regulations shall, inter-alia, indicate the scheme of distribution of marks between the competitive examination and the final examination and the aggregate marks shall be the basis to determine the seniority,” sub-rule (3) read.

Amended sub rule (4) of rule 8 of the Jammu and Kashmir Prosecution Service Recruitment Rules, 2020, provides, “Where a probationer is prevented, either through sickness or other cause over which he has no control from appearing in the final examination, mentioned in sub-rule(3), he may be allowed to appear in the examination which may be conducted by the Commission as early as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the last date of the final examination in which the probationer did not appear.”

“These amendments shall be deemed to have come into effect from the date of notification of the Jammu and Kashmir Prosecution Service Recruitment Rules, 2020 notified vide S.O. 245 dated August 5, 2020,” Bharti directed.
