Rajouri, Aug 07: A woman died in a house collapse in Rajouri during heavy rains. Several vital roads in the district were closed after landslides amid bad weather conditions and rainfall .
In Gundha village of Khawas tehsil in the district, officials said, an elderly woman died after a kacha house collapsed amid heavy rainfall.
The deceased was identified as Kako Devi wife of Sarno of Gundha village.
“She was sleeping in her kacha house when it collapsed on Wednesday morning . She died on the spot,” the officials said.
Amid rainfall, the road from Dehra Ki Gali (DKG) to Surankote Bufliyaz also referred to as Rajouri -Thanamandi- Surankote road was closed at Dannar after landslide.
At Dannar, DTI Poonch Ajaz Mirza said, landslide occurred that led to closure of road which remained closure of hours before it was restored for traffic.
Similarly, the road from Kotranka sub division headquarter to Khawas tehsil headquarter got closed on Wednesday evening after a landslide at LD Gali.
“A landslide occured at around 7 PM that led to closure of road and road restoration work has been taken up,” officials said.
