Act of Vandalisation | 12 suspects detained; SIT formed: SSP Reasi

Jammu, June 30: Police Sunday detained 12 suspects in connection with the act of vandalisation of a religious place in Darmari area of Arnas in Reasi district.

Sensing the gravity of the case, SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma constituted a ‘Special Investigation Team’ (SIT) under the supervision of DySP Operations Reasi, who along with his team is stationed in Arnas area for investigation of the case on priority.

   

SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma said that a case FIR no 55/ 2024 U/S 295 IPC was registered in Police Station Arnas in this connection.

“Immediately after getting reports regarding this act, police teams swung into action and rounded up three suspects during the night. Series of raids continued during day time and around nine more suspects apprehended by teams of Police Station Arnas for questioning in the case,” SSP said.

She said, “Around 12 suspects have been apprehended in the case till now for questioning and further investigations in the case are going on.”

She, however, appealed to the people to remain calm and maintain peace and communal harmony in the area.

“Reasi Police is committed to solve the case and trace the culprit at the earliest,” she said.
