Jammu, May 19: Search teams comprising JKP, SDRF, NDRF and 9 Para unit of army Sunday fished out the body of the second youth, drowned in Tawi river.
In a tragic incident, two youth, identified as Rajinder Singh and Abhikash Singh, while taking bath, drowned in the river on May 17 evening. Following the receipt of this information at Police Post Manwal, a search and rescue operation was launched by JKP, SDRF and NDRF.
The body of Rajinder Singh, resident of Kishanpur Manwal, was recovered yesterday from the Tawi river but search and rescue operations continued to locate the second missing youth.
“In addition to JKP, SDRF and NDRF, the 9 Para unit of army also joined the search and rescue operation today in the Tawi river and the body of second youth Abhikash Singh, son of Ranjeet Singh, resident of Kishanpur Manwal, was recovered. Inquest proceedings have been initiated to ascertain the cause of death,” a police spokesperson said.
