‘Drone-dropped’ arms seized in Samba

Jammu, Sep 02: Security forces Monday recovered three pistols, suspected to have been dropped by a drone from across the border, in Ramgarh sector of district Samba.

According to a Police Spokesperson, the recovery was made in a joint search operation by Border Security Force (BSF), Police Component (PC) Jammu and Samba Police in Mallu Chak area.

   

“On credible input regarding the drone activity in Mallu Chak area, a joint ambush by BSF, PC Jammu and Samba Police was laid in the area. On hearing the humming sound of the drone coming from the Pak side, security personnel fired some rounds towards its (sound’s) direction and pushed the drone back to the Pak side,” the Spokesperson said.

Thorough search operation was launched in the general area of Mallu Chack, after spotting suspected drone movement. “During search operation, three pistols were recovered suspected to be dropped by the drone,” he said.

In this regard, a case FIR No 81/2024 u/s 113(3)/149 BNS and 7/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Ramgarh and further investigation was going on.
