Ramban, July 13: To combat drug abuse Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kishtwar booked a notorious drug peddler under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged him in District Jail Kathua.
According to police the accused Tousif Qayoom @Tousif Chadda,son of Abdul Qayoom resident of Sarkoot area of Kishtwar involved in numerous drug peddling cases was uncovered through detailed investigations highlighting the urgent need for his detention to protect the youth of Kishtwar from drug addiction.
After obtaining the PSA order from competent authority, SSP Kishtwar constituted a team, under the supervision of DySP headquarters Kishtwar, to arrest this notorious drug peddler from Kishtwar and subsequently lodge him in District Jail Kathua.
