High-speed winds disrupt power supply in Ramban areas

Ramban, June 5: High- speed winds disrupted the  power supply in several areas of Ramban district since last evening.

Officials of JPDCL, Ramban said that high-speed winds disrupted the electric supply in the district headquarters town and adjoining areas of Ramban . They said the 11Kv, power receiving station Maitra, Ramban, and transmission lines originating from receiving station to sub stations have developed some technical snag due to which the power supply was disrupted.

   

High-speed winds that blew Tuesday evening in various parts of the district have created faults in transmission lines due to which electricity remained off at the District Headquarters town and its adjoining areas on Wednesday also.

Electric supply was restored to District Headquarter town Ramban for some time during the day and it was snapped again after a slight rain lashed  Ramban town on Wednesday evening.

People of the most  adjoining areas of Ramban informed that the electric supply to their areas was snapped on Tuesday evening and the power supply was not restored till late Wednesday evening.  Due to the non-availability of electric supply, almost all the areas of Ramban town and its peripheral areas are reeling under darkness.

Officials of JPDCL said their technicians, lineman are on the job to detect the fault in transmission lines. Till the filing of this report electric supply to District Headquarters town Ramban and other adjoining areas was not restored.
