Inspection of upgradation project works in Jammu conducted

Jammu, May 28: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, who is also Additional Chief Executive Officer JMRDA, on Tuesday conducted on spot inspection of the improvement/upgradation works in the Transport Nagar.

Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Vice Chairman JDA, SSP Traffic Jammu, Superintending Engineer JDA and other concerned accompanied him during the visit.

   

The Div Com inspected the works being executed for the development of Yards, roads and creation of other amenities. It was informed that maximum works have been completed in Yards, while the works of footpath and bitumen are nearing completion.

The Div Com directed the concerned Engineers to prepare the PERT chart after thoroughly visiting all the yards. He further asked the Vice Chairman JDA to hold meetings with stakeholders in Transport Nagar for speedy completion of the project.

The Div Com directed the concerned officials to complete the works of up-gradation/development of Transport Nagar in two months.

Later, the Div Com chaired a meeting to review the progress of repair and maintenance of roads within Jammu City.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner JMC, ADC Jammu, SSP Traffic Jammu City, Chief Engineer, PWD, Chief Engineer UEED, J&K, PD NHAI, ED NHIDCL apprised the chair of the status of roads under their jurisdiction.

The Div Com asked the concerned to complete the repair and maintenance work of all the main roads before Monsoon, while ensuring the quality execution of works. He directed them to submit comprehensive work plans for the early repair of roads under their responsibility.

The Div Com asked the Commissioner JMC, ADC Jammu and SSP traffic to conduct inspection of the roads for prioritizing the works and share the same with the executing agency.

He also asked for assessing the condition of the internal roads and to ensure all are pothole free.

Superintending Engineer PWD apprised the chair about the major roads being taken up for repair and maintenance in the coming days.

The Div Com also directed NHAI and NHIDCL to ensure maintenance of the roads being maintained and constructed by them.
