Jammu, June 21: The government Friday amended Jammu and Kashmir Police Rules, I960 to provide relaxation in minimum height to the candidates belonging to the ‘Bot tribe.’
As per an amendment notification issued by Principal Secretary, J&K Home department Chandraker Bharti, the minimum height will be relaxable by 2 inches for Bot tribe candidates.
This relaxation has been inserted as second proviso after first proviso to sub-rule (6) of rule 175 of the J&K Police Rules, 1960, through an amendment by the J&K government in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 43 of the Police Act, Samwat, 1983.
“Provided further that for the candidates belonging to the ‘Bot Tribe’, the minimum height shall be relaxable by 2 inches,” read newly inserted second proviso.
