Jammu, June 25: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Vinod Kumar Tuesday asserted that a multi-layer cover, using advanced technology, including CCTV cameras, and all other desired measures would ensure a peaceful, incident-free Amarnath Yatra.

SSP, while speaking to media persons, said that from the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar to Srinagar Jammu National Highway, security arrangements were heightened.

“Layered security was in place in and around Bhagwati Nagar Yatra base camp, besides lodgement and registration centres across city. Sensitive border points have been plugged. Security forces have completed their area domination exercises all along Yatra route in the district and also along (Srinagar Jammu) National Highway and are in ready-mode to ensure peaceful Yatra,” he said.

According to SSP Traffic National Highway Rohit Baskotra, high-end 10 CCTV cameras were installed at sensitive locations to monitor traffic on Srinagar Jammu National Highway. These will be in addition to 60 other cameras set up by the police all along highway stretch to track each and every movement.
