Jammu, June 3: Police Monday detained a hardcore criminal under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in R S Pura-Miran Sahib area of Jammu district.
A police spokesperson said that the hardcore criminal identified as Kulbir Bhagat alias Rinku Kumar, son of Bhushan Lal, resident of Langotian, Miran Sahib, tehsil R S Pura, district Jammu was booked under Public Safety Act for his continuous involvement in criminal activities in an organised manner, thus posing a threat to public peace and order.
“The accused did not mend his behaviour and continued to remain involved in criminal activities in spite of being booked in multiple FIRs that were registered by various Police Stations of Sub Division R S Pura and was recently involved in two heinous criminal cases in the jurisdiction of Police Station Miran Sahib and Police Station R S Pura,” the spokesperson said.
According to the spokesperson, he was arrested by police in a number of cases, but the substantive law was not enough to tame him down and he continued with his criminal activities, thereby posing a great threat to the public at large. He was involved in such activities which were likely to disturb public order and tranquility, particularly in R S Pura-Miran Sahib area of Jammu district.
