White Knight Corps celebrates Raising Day

Nagrota, June 1: White Knight (16) Corps Saturday celebrated its 52nd Raising Day.

Headquartered in Nagrota, the White Knight Corps has been the sentinel south of the Pir Panjal in Jammu & Kashmir. As an integral part of the Northern Command, the Corps has been pivotal in maintaining operational control along the Line of Control (LoC) as well as parts of the hinterland.

   

“On this auspicious occasion, the current General-Officer-Commanding (GOC), Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva extended his heartfelt commendations to the people and to all ranks for their exceptional standards in operational and administrative tasks. In remembrance of the brave hearts who have made the ultimate sacrifice, the GOC laid floral at the ‘Ashwamedh Shaurya Sthal’ during a traditional wreath-laying ceremony,” said PRO Defence Lt Col Suneel Bartwal.

“Raised on June 1, 1972, the Corps has a storied history of bravery and excellence, with Lieutenant General JFR Jacob as its first General-officer-Commanding. Today, we honour the legacy of valour and the commendable performance in all operations, including Counter Insurgency Counter Terrorism Operation,” he said, quoting Lt Gen Sachdeva.

GOC White Knight Corps said that the 52nd Raising Day was not just a celebration of the past but a reaffirmation of the Corps’ commitment to professional excellence. Lt Gen Sachdeva exhorted all soldiers to continue their duties with utmost professionalism and dedication, embodying the spirit of the White Knight Corps.
