Srinagar, Aug 19: The farmers living along the borders of India and China have urged the government to come up with a comprehensive mechanism to facilitate the return of their animals, especially yaks, which they say keep straying on the either side of the borders.
A politician from Ladakh on Monday posted videos and pictures of which he said were Chinese yaks that had strayed to the Indian side.
Konchok Stanzin, a politician and a former executive Councilor for Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, said that these yaks-numbering to 40-were found in the Indian territory of valley Dzomolung Demchok.
Stanzin said that the yaks were now being tamed by the Demchok villagers.
He said, people from the Indian side also lost their yaks some years ago, but didn’t get them back yet.
As per villagers’ sources, 40 Chinese yaks are found in the Indian territory valley called DzomoLung Demchok. They are under Demchok villager’s control. He urged the governments of both the countries to initiate a mechanism that would facilitate the returning of these animals.
