Srinagar, Sep 01: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested 5 drug peddlers in Srinagar and Pulwama and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Srinagar, a police party from Police Station Shalteng at a checkpoint established at Sozeith Bund intercepted a vehicle (Swift) bearing registration number UK14TA-1714 with three persons on board who tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully by the alert police party.
In Pulwama, a police party at Gudoora Bridge intercepted a vehicle (Scorpio) bearing registration number JK13A-4513 with two persons on board. During checking, 70 bottles of liquor were recovered from their possession.
