Ramban, Aug 10: Police in Kishtwar seized seven vehicles used in transportation of illegally extracted minerals in Kishtwar on Saturday.
Police sources said that on specific information regarding the transportation of illegally extricated minerals, a police team led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar established a Naka at Shalamar on Batote-Kishtwar National Highway and intercepted seven vehicles including five tippers transporting minerals.
They said all the seven vehicles used in unlawful extraction and transportation of minerals were seized.
SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom issued a stern warning to those persons engaged in illegal mining in Kishtwar district urging them to cease their activities immediately.
He asked people to report any illegal mining activities in their vicinity to police for legal action.
