A K Chowdhary appointed Chairman PSC

Srinagar Feb 24: The J&K administration Saturday appointed A K Chowdhary as Chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC) and he would hold the position till he attains the age of 62 years.

As per the government order, the appointment of Chowdhary would come into effect from the date of him assuming office.

   

“In exercise of powers conferred by Section 93 of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, and S O 3937 (E) dated October 31, 2019, read with order issued in terms of sub-clause (i) of clause (c) of the proclamation issued by the President dated October 31, 2019, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir is pleased to appoint A K Chowdhary, IPS (AGMUT: 1991), as Chairman, PSC for Jammu and Kashmir,” the order reads. “He will hold the position of the Chairman, PSC, till he attains the age of 62 years.”

The JKPSC was rendered headless since the departure of former Chairman Satish Chandra on November 19, 2023.
