Kupwara, Apr 4: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Aziz Ahmad Rather today convened a meeting of concerned officers to finalise the arrangements for celebration of upcoming holy festivals including Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab-e-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The meeting was attended by all concerned officers of various departments.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner stressed the concerned officers for ensuring proper sanitation around Eid Gahs, Masjids besides installing LED lamps besides keeping available medical facilities at the places where big congregation takes place. He directed the Municipal Committees to conduct pre-festival and post festival cleanliness drives and ensure proper sanitation and hygiene.
The market checking squads were directed to intensify checking of illegal profiteering, hoarding, black marketing and selling of low quality food items.
Regarding availability of LPG, sugar and other essential commodities, CAPD department was directed to ensure an adequate supply of essential commodities.
The PDD and PHE departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted and scheduled power and drinking water supply during festival days.
The ADC also chaired a separate meeting of BDOs, BMOs and Municipalities regarding registration and issuance of births, deaths and other issues.
