‘Can’t tolerate humiliation’: Ex-MLA Nizamuddin Bhat disassociates from People’s Conference

Bandipora, June 26: Former MLA Bandipora and senior leader Nizamuddin Bhat has dissociated from Peoples Conference “after not being invited for the party’s Core Group meeting yesterday”, saying “no conscientious person can tolerate such humiliation”.

Bhat said that he was no actively involved when he joined the party. “I was appointed as chairman of party’s Parliamentary Board, but when Sajad Lone declared his candidature for Lok Sabha polls, he didn’t consult the board and announced the decision on his own. I was virtually insulted,” he alleged.

Bhat said that despite the “insult”, he supported the party in the Parliamentary election. “When the core group meeting of the party was held yesterday, I was not invited, which was a humiliation to me. No conscientious person will tolerate such humiliation. So, I am no more with the party,” said Bhat.

“I disassociate with dignity and respect; I have no complaint. These two instances led to the decision of me parting ways with the party,” added Bhat.
