DGP extends Raksha Bandhan greetings

Srinagar, Aug 18: Director General of Police (DGP) Rashmi Ranjan Swain Sunday extended warm greetings on Raksha Bandhan on Sunday.

In his message, the DGP said, “I extended greetings to the people of J&K, the families of martyrs, all ranks of J&K Police, security forces, and their families on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan.”

   

He said that Raksha Bandhan was a festival that symbolises the bond of protection and care.

“It symbolises the special bonds between brothers and sisters,” Swain said.

He expressed hope that this auspicious occasion would usher more peace, amity, harmony, progress, and prosperity in J&K.

“As we celebrate this day, let’s remember the sacrifices of our brave martyrs and their families who lost their loved ones for the safety and security of people, for the sovereignty and integrity of the nation,” the DGP said.
