Dozens of structures damaged in Rafiabad

Sopore, Aug 20: Scores of residential houses and other structures were damaged across north Kashmir’s Rafiabad area after two back-to-back earthquakes jolted J&K on Tuesday morning.

The residential houses developed cracks mainly in the upper parts of north Kashmir’s Rafiabad area.

   

Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore S A Raina visited Sialkot, Balhama, Rohama, Shutloo, Tragpora, Watergam, Dangiwacha, Chatoosa, Kungroosa, Achabal, and Ladoora villages in Rafiabad belt and met scores of people there.

They expressed their concern about the damages caused to the structures and urged for immediate relief and rehabilitation of the affected families.

After assessing the situation, the ADC assured the people that necessary steps would be taken by the government to help the affected families.
