Sopore, July 10: A government school building was engulfed in flames during a fire that erupted in Gousia Colony Noor Bagh Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said on Wednesday.
An official said the fire ravaged the building of High School Baba Yousuf at Gousia Colony Noor Bagh Sopore causing extensive damage to the single storey building of the institute.
Fortunately, official records housed within the building were saved by the timely action of fire tenders and local Police, the official said.
Meanwhile, police took cognisance of this fire incident and said that the cause of the fire remains unknown, although firefighters with the help of police managed to bring the blaze under control soon after the fire engulfed the building.
