Jama’at, Geelani, Sehrai condole Fazili’s demise

Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu and Kashmir today paid rich tributes to its veteran octogenarian leader Abdul Majid Fazili of Buchpora. Fazili, who passed away in Delhi day before yesterday.

A Jamaat spokesman in a statement said that late Fazili was staying at his son’s residence in Delhi after returning from the Umrah. He joined Jama’at as its basic member during the early days with its founder Ameer Moulana Sa’ad ud Deen and functioned as Ameer of Srinagar district and remained a member of the Central Advisory Council of Jama’at. He worked in the AG office as a dedicated and honest officer and remained associated with Jama’at throughout his period of employment. He was buried in his ancestral graveyard after a huge number of people participated in his Namaz-e-Janaza where great tributes were paid to his dedicated services to the cause of Islam and the humanity. He was a known social worker in his area and his dedication in this field will be remembered for long times.

   

 Ameer Jama’at Dr Abdul  Hamid Fayaz and other functionaries of Jama’at also remembered his noble services and dedication to Islam during his association with Jama’at which lasted till he left for the heavenly abode, the spokesman added.

 Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani has also condoled the demise of Abdul Majeed Fazli, describing him a noble soul, affectionate human being, caring citizen, religious personality and inspirational lover for Islam and Kashmir movement. 

“Workers of Fazili’s caliber, dedication and commitment are hard to find in organizations and forums. We prayed for the peace of his soul and courage to the family to bear this tragic loss,” Geelani said in a statement today, said.

Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai expressed grief over the demise. 

Sehrai along other TeH leaders visited the residence of the deceased participated in funeral prayers. He also offered the condolence with the bereaved family.
