J&K writer bags prestigious award

Srinagar, June 19: During the 23rd Srijan Gatha International Conference held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, which was on June 10, Prof Beena Budki, a distinguished literary figure and social activist from Jammu and Kashmir, was honoured with the prestigious Pandit Ravi Kumar Shukula Ismriti Samaan award.

The accolade was presented by renowned educationists Maheshwari (chief guest), Dr Savita Mohan, and Jai Prakash Manav.

   

Prof Budki, who also graced the occasion as a special guest, has been a towering presence in the literary and social circles.

The event was further marked by the launch of her two significant books, “Nangi Imarat Ka Balatkar” and “Zindagi Ko Talashte Kinner.” These works highlight her profound contributions to literature and social discourse, underscoring her commitment to addressing complex societal issues through her writing.

The conference celebrated Prof Budki’s unwavering dedication and influential role in advocating for social justice and literary excellence.
