Lecturers’ delegation seeks redressal of issues of stagnation in promotion

Srinagar, June 22: A delegation led by president Mansoor Ahmad Khan visited Civil Secretariat Srinagar and met Principal Secretary (PS) Finance, Santosh D Vaidya and took up issues of stagnation in promotion.

The delegation had a detailed discussion on the stagnation and lack of avenues of functional, non-functional promotion in the +2 cadre. The PS was given a detailed overview of the structure of the cadre and the department was requested to push forward appropriate policy to settle this issue.

   

The delegation was informed that the government is seriously working on the issue and every effort will be made to settle this issue. The delegation thanked PS for giving a patient hearing and also conveyed warm gratitude to LG-led current dispensation for addressing the genuine issues on merit.

The delegation also visited the Department of Law and met Secretary Law Achal Sethi and Dy Secretary Law and discussed the different aspects of stagnation and need of career progression in the +2 cadre and requested the officers to help address this issue as warranted.

Later on, the delegation met officers of the School Education Department including Ad Secretary G N Bhat and Dy Secretary Masood Ahmad Wani and discussed various issues particularly pertaining to HRM and requested for timely redressal and disposal.

Those accompanying the delegation include Jan Mohammad, Dr Mir Nazim, Khursheed Ul Hassan, Khursheed Ahmad Rather and Khursheed Ul Alam.
