Srinagar, June 6: Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulama (MMU) Jammu and Kashmir, a conglomerate of religious bodies led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has taken serious note of reports of blasphemous post by a student in Government Medical College Srinagar.
MMU, in a statement, asked the management of the college and authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and take stern action accordingly.
“This is not the first time that such an incident has occurred. Even last year at NIT a similar incident occurred. There seems to be a pattern to it,” it said.
The statement said that Jammu and Kashmir that has always upheld religious coexistence and respect for all faiths and “this ploy will not be allowed to succeed here.”
