Seer Jageer WSS thrown open for public use in Sopore

Sopore, June 23: Mission Director of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Dr G N Itoo, yesterday officially handed over the Seer Jageer Sopore water supply scheme(WSS) to the local residents.

This significant project recently e-inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from SKICC, has been completed at a cost of Rs. 222.54 lakhs. Its primary objective is to ensure reliable and safe drinking water for the community.

   

During the ceremony, Dr Itoo underscored the transformative impact of the Seer Jageer water supply scheme on the residents’ quality of life, emphasising that the initiative is a crucial step towards fulfilling JJM’s vision of providing access to potable water to every rural household.

Local residents expressed profound gratitude to the LG administration and the concerned department for their dedicated efforts in bringing this essential resource to their doorstep. The successful completion and handover of this project represents a significant milestone in ongoing efforts to enhance water supply infrastructure in the region.

Dr Itoo reiterated JJM’s commitment to achieve 100% coverage of water supply and thanked all stakeholders for their support and cooperation in realising this initiative.

Additionally, during the ceremony, Dr Itoo underscored the importance of responsible water usage and urged the community to use water judiciously while emphasising the need for conservation efforts to safeguard water resources for future generations.

Dr Itoo further appealed to residents to register their water connections promptly, emphasising that this step is essential for efficient management and equitable distribution of water resources across the region.
