Kulgam, Sep 01: CPI(M) leader and party candidate for Kulgam assembly constituency, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami,  on Sunday said that his party promises to own people’s issues issues and speak about their  problems on every possible platform, whether in the assembly or outside.

According to a press release, he was addressing series of rallies in Kulgam. Tarigami appealed to the youth for their support, saying that while he has long been an advocate for their rights, he cannot achieve these goals alone.

He said that the CPI(M) is committed to continuing the fight for their rights, pledging to remain dedicated to their cause until his last breath.

At a rally in Okey, a Kangri village in Kulgam, the CPI(M) leader said that there is need for greater support for artisans in the area, whom he referred to as “Shakshaz.”

Tarigami said that the area has a good number of skilled potters and craftsmen and expressed concern for their livelihoods and the challenges they face. He said that he has consistently advocated for the establishment of a separate board dedicated to artisans, an initiative he has highlighted in the state assembly. Tarigami argued that artisans should be recognised as a special category and provided with government assistance to preserve and promote their traditional crafts.
