3.4-magnitude earthquake hits Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar

Srinagar, Dec 20: An earthquake measuring 3.4 magnitude hit Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

National Center for Seismology (NSC) said the earthquake occurred at 11:57 am on Wednesday.

   

In a post on X, NCS informed, “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.4, Occurred on 20-12-2023, 11:57:16 IST, Lat: 33.28 & Long: 76.70, Depth: 5 Km ,Location: Kishtwar, Jammu & Kashmir.”

Earlier at least 11 earthquakes and aftershocks have jolted Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in 24 hours while the experts have stated that low intensity shakes is a good sign as it brings down the possibility of a major earthquake.
