3 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, cash in Kishtwar

Ramban, June 10: Police arrested three drug peddlers with around 24 grams of heroin and Rs 23,000 cash in Kishtwar district on Monday.

Police said information was received that two drug peddlers were supplying narcotics to local youths in the Guildhal area in Kishtwar town, acting swiftly a raid was conducted by the Police team led by DySP, and SHO Police Station Kishtwar and both drug peddlers were detained during their physical search 18 grams of a heroin-like substance along with Rs 23,000 in cash, a digital electronic weighing machine, and aluminum foil was recovered from their possession.

   

Both were arrested on the spot.

Police identified them as Sonam Angyal resident of Padder, and Sujal Kumar Shan resident of Dool, both were presently residing at Brahman Mohalla, in Kishtwar town.

In another instance, a patrolling party from Police Station Kishtwar apprehended a suspected person and recovered 5.5 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.

Police said Vikas Sharma @Rohit  a resident of Udhampur, presently residing at Akhyarabab Kishtwar was arrested.

Police have registered two separate cases under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Kishtwar.

SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom said drive against the drug peddlers will remain continue to eradicate the drug menace from the society.
