Srinagar, June 08: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Law & Order Vijay Kumar Saturday commended police and other security agencies for incident-free Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

The ADGP mentioned that voter turnout in recently concluded Lok Sabha elections in J&K increased due to praiseworthy steps and duties performed by personnel of J&K Police and other security agencies. He emphasized officers and jawans to be prepared for the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

   

Addressing a joint darbar of officers and jawans of IRP 3rd, 9th, 20th and 21st at Parihaspora Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla, ADGP Law & Order Vijay Kumar congratulated police and other security agencies for incident-free Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The voter turnout recorded high in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls in J&K. This is all due to your strenuous efforts put up for maintenance of law and order. You made environment free from any mishap. Though politicians also tried their best to influence voters and increase its number, but credit goes to you. It is praiseworthy that you performed your duties well,” ADGP L&O Vijay Kumar said.

He said the J&K Police is trying its best to empower its personnel of all benefits which other security agencies are availing. “The J&K Police will get incentives and other perks for performing duties during election days like CAPF is availing. We will get it soon. We have submitted the data in this regard,” he said.

He also advised and motivated jawans to be prepared for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and Assembly elections in J&K.
