Anantnag-Marwah highway reopens for one-way traffic

Officials said that the officials from civil and Police administration had to trek at least 3 km from Drass side to receive NEET question papers that were stuck at Sonamarg due to road closure.

Srinagar, Apr 07: Anantnag-Marwah road via Margan Top was reopened today for traffic after the authorities cleared accumulated snow at Sinthantop Pass and other locations.

“Following the clearance of road from Matigavran to Warwan via Margan Top by R&B department, it is hereby ordered that Marwah- Anantnag road via Margan top shall remain open for commuters subject to fair weather conditions from today (Sunday),” reads an order issued by SDM Marwah, a copy of which lies with News Agency Kashmir Scroll.

   

“The authorities of R&B shall continuously monitor the road situation and will keep men and machinery ready as and when required on the spot.” It reads.

“The plying of vehicles is strictly subject to fair weather condition. The opening of Marwah-Anantnag road shall be suspended in the event of adverse weather condition, which may pose a threat to the safety of the commuters and the operational staff,” it states further.

Timing for commuters going from Kishtwar to Anantnag has been fixed from 9 am to 1 pm (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday ) (To cross Guzzar Check post Warwan).

Timing for commuters coming from Anantnag to Kishtwar has been fixed from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) (To cross Garwan Anantnag).
