Earthquake of magnitude 5.7 recorded from Afghanistan; tremors felt in Kashmir too

Srinagar, Aug 29: An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 was recorded on Thursday, with its epicenter being Afghanistan even as the tremors were felt in Kashmir too.

As per the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), It had a depth of 255 Kilometers, occurring on  29/08/2024 11:26:38 IST, Lat: 36.51 N, Long: 71.12 E,  Afghanistan.

   

The tremors of this earthquake were felt over 710kms across in the valley of Kashmir.

The people in Kashmir said they felt mild vibrations which lasted for over 4-seconds.

However, no report of loss of life or property was reported till now.

“Earthquake of Magnitude: 5.7, Occured on: 29/08/2024 11:26:38 IST, Lat: 36.51 N, Long: 71.12 E, Depth: 255 Km, Region: Afghanistan,” the NCS said.
