Educational institutions remain closed in Doda in view of snow avalanche alert

Bhaderwah, Feb 21: All educational institutions including government and private across Doda district on Wednesday remained closed due to inclement weather conditions and possible snow avalanche alert advisory by J&K Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA).

The order had passed by district administration on Wednesday morning after JKDMA issued fresh avalanche alert in the district.

   

Pertinently the educational institutions which were supposed to re-open today remained off, keeping the safety of students and teachers into consideration. The snowfall continued on the consecutive third day in Bhaderwah, sub-divisions Gandoh, Thathri and higher reaches of Doda.

“All educational institutions have been directed to remain closed for Wednesday as a precautionary measure following rains in plains and snow in higher reaches,” ADC Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar told Greater Kashmir.

He also appealed people in general to avoid venturing near avalanche prone areas.

Meanwhile district administration Kishtwar has issued a fresh order, directing all educational institutions to remain closed on Thursday amid inclement weather.
