Bhaderwah, Apr 19: In a unique initiative to encourage sick voters to exercise their franchise with ease and simultaneously to promote local culture, Social Welfare department and district administration Doda made special arrangements to carry an unwell lady Sukh Devi (66) of Gatha in well decorated palanquin (Doli) to pink polling station- 44, where she casted her vote.
Social Welfare Officers Nazia Shaheen Wani and Mehreen Bano said that the initiative to carry the unwell Sukh Devi a resident of Gatha village to pink polling in well decorated palanquin was primarily aimed to give confidence to the unwell voters that on this auspicious day of festival of democracy, “we are there to help them.”
