EPFO’s Nidhi Aapke Nikat outreach programme reaches Shopian

Srinagar, May 27:  Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0, the monthly District Outreach Programme of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), made its way to Shopian on Saturday.

The awareness camp, organised at Rainbow International Educational Institute in Deegam, witnessed active participation from employers and employees of various establishments in the district.

   

Under the guidance of Vinay Kumar, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II/OIC Regional Office Kashmir, the program was led by Enforcement Officer  Latif Ahmad Zargar, Abdul Rashid Mir SSA, Ahmar Rashid Shah SSA, and Mehraj ur Rehman SSA.

The endeavour of EPFO under Nidhi Aapke Nikat is to listen and resolve grievances of employers and employees on the spot, strengthening the relationship between the organisation and its stakeholders.

During the session, participants were informed about the applicability of the EPF and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, provisions of the Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 and Linked Insurance Scheme 1976, e-nominations, and KYC. Employers and employees were made aware of new initiatives like e-nomination, the Principal Employer portal, and EPFO’s services available on the UMANG app.

Stakeholders were apprised of the Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995, which was made applicable in Jammu & Kashmir from November 1, 2019, as earlier, there was no Pension Scheme in the Union Territory.

Participants were informed about the importance of enrolling employees under PF and Pension Fund and the need for timely contributions to protect their families in the event of any untoward incidents. Information regarding the benefits of Insurance under EDLI, wherein an assured benefit of Rs. 2.5 lacs up to a maximum of Rs. 7 lacs will be given to the nominee of the deceased upon their death in harness, was also provided.

The theme of this month’s “Nidhi Aapka Nikat” program was Pensioners Services – 2, which included Dependent Parent Pension, what to do in case of death of a pensioner, eligibility for pension benefits & DLC, Prayaas-PPO on the day of retirement, and Pension & EDLI Calculator.

A special Pension/Grievance Help Desk was set up in the camp for quick redressal of pensioners’ problems and settlement of on-spot grievances. The participants thanked EPFO authorities for conducting such awareness programmes and hoped that such programs would continue in the future to benefit more employees through the social security schemes provided by EPFO India.
