HM’s Kashmir visit to help BJP’s proxies: Omar

Srinagar, May 18: National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Saturday alleged that Home Minister’s Kashmir visit amid Lok Sabha elections was to help BJP’s proxies in ongoing polls.

He cautioned ruling BJP from interfering in the polling process.According to a press release Omar was addressing a workers convention at Magam.

Omar said, “I do not know whom the home minister met and I do not want to know. But I definitely know that the home minister came here just to help in the elections. Just like Srinagar, our workers across Baramulla Parliamentary constituency have started receiving calls from administration. While the BJP has not fielded its own candidates, its B, C and D teams; be it the bucket, apple, cricket bat or ink-pot have been working on its directions. Union Home minister had specifically come to help them. Since the BJP has no candidates running in this election, he isn’t here to campaign. Is he here to support their proxy parties?”

He asked  party workers to remain firm on their ground. Omar said, “Our opponents used to say that Article 370 was hollow, but our position is that the people of Jammu and Kashmir got whatever they got till date thanks to this article.”
