J&K Apni Party District President Khursheed Ahmad Khan dies at 63

Srinagar, May 20: Former Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) and Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party leader and District President Baramulla, Khursheed Ahmad Khan passed away on Monday evening. He was 63, his family said.

Quoting a family member, news agency GNS reported that Khan was not keeping well for over a year now, however his condition aggravated drastically last week following which he was taken to SKIMS Soura. “After remaining admitted there for all these days, he eventually breathed his last this evening,” he said.

   

Khan after attaining superannuation from his job in Jammu and Kashmir Police entered politics and joined Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari led Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party – where he was given the charge of District President of the party for Baramulla.

Khan, an actual resident of Ladu-Ladoora, was currently residing at Sherwani Colony Khawaja Bagh Baramulla.

Notably, the departed cop turned politician is father of incumbent Tehsildar Handwara Zeeshan Khan and brother-in-law of senior lawyer & ex-president Bar Association Rafiabad, Advocate Tariq Ahmad Khan and Assistant Commissioner Nazool, Nasir Mehmood Khan.

The funeral prayers to the departed soul will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday.
