J&K Police like a sword in fight against terrorism in UT: DGP

Srinagar, June 28: Director General of Police (DGP) Rashmi Ranjan Swain Friday said that the war against terrorism in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir cannot be won without J&K Police.

He described J&K Police as a sword in the fight against terror, and said “this sword needs to be used and taken care of properly”.

DGP made these remarks at an event held at Hira Nagar Jammu where nine SPOs have been elevated to the ranks of Constables.

“The Jammu and Kashmir Police is like a sword against the terror system. If this sword, which belongs to the people, is not properly maintained and taken care of, the victory in this war against terrorism, cannot be achieved,” DGP told media persons on the sidelines of the event.

He said the Government of India has also realized the significance of the police and is working to support them accordingly.

He continued that terrorists may inflict some damage, but they cannot defeat our resolve.
