One dead, five injured as vehicle falls into gorge in Baltal

Ganderbal, Jun 10: One person died while five others were injured after a vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Ranga Mode Baltal in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday, officials said.

Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that the accident took place when a vehicle bearing registration number PB01A-4898 on its way to Kargil from Srinagar fell into a deep gorge at Ranga Mode Baltal.

   

The official said that in the accident, one person died, who has been identified as Tarseem Lal (42), son of Nath Raam from Gurdaspur Punjab while five others were injured. The injured have been rushed to PHC Sonamarg for treatment.

The official stated that three among them were shifted to SKIMS, Soura For advanced treatment.

The injured have been identified as Sunil Manish (17), son of Raju of Gurdaspur Punjab, Balvinder Singh (28), son of Rouf Lal of Gurdaspur Punjab, Sonis (30), wife of Mintoo, Glaxon (06), son of Mintoo and Kavita (02), daughter of Mintoo—residents of Badibrahmna, Jammu.

Meanwhile, Police have taken cognisance of the incident.
