Kargil, June 26: The Ladakh police has taken action against two drivers for driving their SUV’S on the ecologically sensitive sand dunes in Hunder area in Ladakh.
District Police Leh said that both the drivers were found driving over the sand dunes in Hunder, a picturesque village in Leh district known for its cold desert landscape. “Following a viral video showing negligent driving on Hunder sand dunes, District Police has registered FIR No. 08/2024 u/s 290, 336 IPC against a Toyota Fortuner (HR26DR-0077) & another unknown vehicle and their drivers.
District Police Leh urges everyone to be responsible tourists and requests tourists not to ply on sand dunes as it damages the natural landscape.
