Srinagar, Dec 07: The Supreme Court is set to deliver its verdict on December 11 regarding the constitutional challenge to the Union Government’s 2019 decision to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and comprising Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Sanjiv Khanna, BR Gavai, and Surya Kant, reserved the judgment on September 5, 2023, after an extensive sixteen-day hearing that began on August 2, 2023.

The case also contests the J&K Reorganization Act, which led to the bifurcation of the state into the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.
