Ramban, June 26: The Srinagar- Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of light medium and heavy vehicles, on Wednesday.

However, traffic authorities said slow traffic movement remained slow between Nashri and Banihal sectors. They said slow traffic movement remain slow due to the breakdown of a few heavy vehicles and due to single-lane road stretches at Dalwass, Mehar Cafeteria, Panthyal,Magarkot, Shalgari, Nachlana besides poor road surface conditions at many places between Nashri and Banihal.

   

Traffic officials monitoring traffic regulations claimed that despite slow traffic movement hundreds of light medium and heavy vehicles crossed Nashri-Banihal tunnels till late Wednesday evening.

They said National Highway is open and vehicles are heading towards their respective destinations in Kashmir and Jammu. Traffic authorities once again advised passenger vehicle operators, and commuters not to undertake journeys on National Highway during the night hours due to apprehensions of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal sectors.
