TAC to vet document for outsourcing, printing of driving licences, registration certificates in J&K

Jammu, June 25: A Technical Appraisal Committee (TAC) will vet the Request for Proposal (RFP) document for outsourcing and centralized printing of Driving Licenses (DLs) and Certificates of Registration (RCs) in the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

Sanction for constitution of TAC has been accorded in terms of S O 227 dated July 9, 2021 of the Finance Department. As per GAD order, the committee will have Mohammad Saleem Khan, State Informatics Officer, NIC, J&K as its chairman while Shaifu Gupta, Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu and Sheetal Gandotra, Assistant Professor, Government College of Engineering & Technology (GCET), Jammu will be its members.

   

Vikas Sharma, Technical Officer, Information Technology Department will be its member-secretary. He has been tasked to coordinate with all the members of the Committee for timely convening of meetings and to ensure timely appraisal and vetting of documents.

The committee has been asked to submit its report to the Information Technology Department within 15 days from the date of issuance of this order. As per the terms of reference, the panel will provide technical vetting of the RFP and give recommendations regarding the provisions proposed in RFP.

It will give its recommendations or suggestions on the viability of the proposed solutions in the RFP and ensure strict compliance to all the rules, procedures and guidelines issued by the government from time to time while vetting the RFP.
