PM Modi visits Omar Ali Saifuddien mosque in Brunei

New Delhi, Sep 03: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the historic Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan today, marking an important moment during his official visit to Brunei.

The Prime Minister was warmly received by Brunei’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Dato Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin, and the Minister of Health, Dato Dr Haji Mohammad Isham. Members of the Indian community in Brunei also gathered to greet the Prime Minister.

   

In a message shared on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi expressed his admiration for the mosque, stating, “Went to Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in Brunei,” alongside photos of his visit.

The iconic mosque, named after the 28th Sultan of Brunei, Omar Ali Saifuddien III, who initiated its construction, stands as a symbol of Brunei’s Islamic heritage and was completed in 1958.
