Various Sikh bodies here on Sunday held a meeting and condemned the killing of community youth in Tral area of Kashmir.

As per the release, the meeting was chaired by Sardar Darbinder Singh, president, Sharomani Akal Dal, J&K and attended by representatives of Bhai Kanahyia Nishkam Sewa Society, AISSF, Sikh Naujwan Sabha, Sikh Welfare Society, and other religious bodies.

The meeting, as per the release condemned the killing of a 25-year-old youth, Simranjit Singh son of Sardar Nanak Singh of Khasi Pura, Tral, whose brother was elected as Sarpanch of that locality in the recent Panchayat elections.

The participants in the meeting said that State government should have provided fool proof security to the families of the Panchayat members.

Meanwhile, the Sikh bodies demanded that the family of the deceased youth be given a compensation of Rs 25 lakh and his murderers arrested at the earliest.

Those who attended the meeting included S Charan Singh Bali, convener, Sharomani Akali Dal Kashmir province; Sardar Mohinder Singh, Sardar Paramjit Singh, Sardar Surinder Singh Kala, financial advisor SAD, Sardar Raja Singh, member DGPC Jammu; Sardar Gajan Singh, president J&K Motor Transport Companies Association Jammu; Sardar Kuldeep Singh Malk, Sardar Rajinder Singh, Sardar Ravinder Singh, Tejpal Singh, Sardar Kultar Singh, Jagjit Singh, Captain Hajara Singh and others.
