Refrain from executing MGNREGA works: DDC to govt teachers

The Poonch civil administration on Saturday warned government teachers against executing any works under the Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and asked the rural development department as well as the education department to ensure that the direction is implemented.

An order, issued from the office of additional district development commissioner, Poonch, on the directions of district development commissioner, stated that the DDC has been receiving complaints, wherein it has been alleged that the teachers and masters working in far-flung villages indulge in executing different works under MGNREGA, in connivance with the local rural development department functionaries.

"The practice adversely affects teaching-learning process in the schools," the order states, adding, “If any employee is found indulging in such malpractice, strict action will be taken against the erring officials."
