Ramban, Aug 2: The Srinagar- Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of light medium vehicles, and one-way traffic of heavy vehicles for Jammu on Friday.
Traffic authorities said the National Highway remained open. But traffic movement remained slow due to the breakdown of few heavy vehicles and due to single-lane road stretches at Dalwass, Mehar Cafeteria, and between Maroog to Kishtwar Pathar areas between Nashri and Banihal sectors of National Highway.
They said heavy vehicles released from Qazigund, Kashmir are still heading towards Jammu in a regulated manner.
Meanwhile, traffic authorities said, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, light-medium vehicles carrying Amarnath Yatra pilgrims would be allowed to ply on either side of highway on Saturday.
