Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remains open

Ramban, July 3: The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remained open for two-way traffic of light medium vehicles, one- way traffic of heavy vehicles for Jammu on Wednesday.

Traffic authorities said traffic movement remained slow due to the breakdown of two heavy vehicles and due to single-lane road stretches at Dalwass, Mehar Cafeteria, and between Maroog and Kishtwar Pathar areas of Ramban district today.

   

Traffic officials monitoring traffic regulations said after the scheduled convoy of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra crossed the Udhampur-Qazigund sectors for Kashmir scheduled two-way traffic of light medium vehicles was allowed to ply on the National Highway.

They said heavy vehicles released from Qazigund, Kashmir in the afternoon are heading towards Jammu in a regulated manner. They further said the National Highway is open and vehicles are heading towards their respective destinations in Kashmir and Jammu.

Meanwhile, traffic authorities said, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, light-medium vehicles carrying Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims would be allowed to ply on either side of NH-44 on Thursday.
