Srinagar, Jan 17: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF )and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has expressed serious concern over hike in power tarrif.
He added that people are under acute financial distress and can not afford the increase in power tarrif , in any form . Yaseen also decried continued power crisis in Kashmir region.
In a statement he said that increase in power tarrif , in any form ,was beyond the capacity of poor and middle class. He said whether in metered area or un- mattered areas , financial position of consumers , every where , was pathetic and they were not in a position to pay their power bills on hiked rates . He has demanded immediate roll back of the decision . He has also rued continued power outage in Kashmir region adding that consumers were facing acute hardships due to the prevailing power crisis .
